About

Melissa Kiguwa is a Spiritual Director and inventor of a methodology for training the inner world.

She is the founder & CEO of Future Intelligence, a nervous-system training that translates science and spiritual practice into practical tools for emotional regulation. She developed the methodology through ministry training, contemplative study, and intensive personal practice, followed by working privately with professional athletes, founders, and CEOs.

Her work focuses on helping people build greater emotional awareness, resilience, and self-regulation. Clients report improvements in HRV, a deeper sense of calm, and meaningful changes in how they respond to stress.

Melissa holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and is trained as a Spiritual Director with Unity Worldwide Ministries.

She is also the author of an award-winning book of poetry, Reveries of Longing, and the founder of The Marrow, an invitation-only gathering for accomplished leaders.

What is spiritual direction?

Spiritual direction is the ancient practice of listening for what’s most true in your life—some call that God, Spirit, the Beloved, Love, the Dao, the Real.

It exists in many traditions:

Christians say spiritual direction, Jews say hashpa’ah (spiritual guidance), Sufis meet with a wise guide (murshid in sohbet), Buddhists talk about a spiritual friend, Hindus gather in satsang, and many Indigenous communities turn to elders.

Different names, same idea: slow down, pay attention, and notice what brings aliveness and peace.

What happens when you listen?

The mental noise thins. Fear and wisdom stop sounding alike. Grief begins to metabolize. You find a truer yes, a kinder no, and the next faithful step—rooted not in pressure, but in alignment. You connect with all that you are—the grace, the beauty, the purpose, the connection, the expansion.

Then something quiet and seismic: you stop fighting yourself.

The inner critic loosens. You like the self you bring to the arena, the stage, the boardroom, the green room.

This isn’t therapy, coaching, or conversion. It’s confidential, trauma-informed companionship that honors your spiritual tradition (or none) and draws respectfully from the great mystical streams.

We slow down, name what’s real, and follow what bears life—so you can win in a way your body can carry for the long season.
